COGNITIVE MAP

Image
Cognitive Map A cognitive map is a visual representation of knowledge that helps learners organize, connect, and understand concepts meaningfully. In psychology, it refers to a mental framework that enables individuals to perceive relationships between ideas and recall information effectively—a concept introduced by Edward Tolman. As part of my B.Ed. innovative work, I prepared cognitive maps for “Units and Measurement” (Class XI) and “Magnetism and Matter” (Class XII) . These maps systematically present key concepts, definitions, formulas, and interconnections in a clear and structured manner. By simplifying complex topics into visual pathways, the cognitive maps support better comprehension, retention, and revision, making learning more engaging and learner-centered.

INNOVATIVE WORK SECOND PHASE

Image
Innovative Work As part of the Second Phase Innovative Work in the B.Ed. programme, I prepared an innovative Canon camera model using craft paper to teach concepts from the chapter Electric Current . The model was designed in such a way that the camera film can be moved , and as it slides, students can view different electrical components such as capacitor, LED, button cell, resistor, rheostat, multimeter, ammeter, voltmeter, dry cell, and bulb . This interactive teaching aid helps learners understand the identification and function of electrical components in an engaging manner. The activity promotes hands-on learning, curiosity, and better concept retention, making abstract concepts concrete and enjoyable for students.
